Obit - "I.H. Ardis, one of Sulphur Springs leading citizens for the past quarter of a century, died at his home early Friday morning with paralysis. He had been suffering from previous strokes and his death was not unexpected. Funeral services were held by Elder Bryant and Pastor Moode of the Methodist Church Interment following in the City Cemetery. The deceased was 60 years old and lived nearly all his life in Hopkins County. In 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Martha McCorkle, who still survives him. In this union, eight children were born, four of whom are still living, as follows: Arch and H.L. Ardis of Dallas, Mrs. Clarence Shaffer of Shreveport, and Allen Ardis now with the US Army in Germany. He is survived by one brother, Love Ardis of this city. (Hopkins Co. Echo, Feb 21, 1919)"
