Raphael J. Greenwood, age 87, formerly of Two Rivers, died peacefully after a long illness on Saturday evening, June 14, 2008 after a brief stay at the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers.
Raphael was born January 3, 1921, in Two Rivers, son of the late David and Maude (Cusik) Greenwood.
Raphael was a WWII Veteran with the US Navy serving from 1942-1945 on the USS St. Louis, USS Bogue and the USS Ticonderoga. He received the Crossed Golden Dragon, Philippine Liberation Bar and several Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret ŒPeggy¹ Greenwood, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Huenink, Oostburg; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Greenwood and fiancée Barbara Hooper, Manitowoc, Dale and Irene Greenwood Sr., Manitowoc, David ŒDigger¹ Greenwood and special friend; Margie Brooks, Francis Creek; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his faithful dog, Hannah also survive.
