Funeral for Maxine Irons, 91, of Decatur will be Monday, June 23, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Lowery officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Irons, who died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital was born March 30, 1917, in Limestone County to Willie Thomas McBay and Mary Belle Johnson. She was of Baptist faith and was retired from Culver Cleaners for many years. She enjoyed her life, being surrounded by many wonderful friends and family who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Irons, one brother and four sisters.
Survivors include one son, Franklin D. Irons Sr., and wife, Jo, of Belton, Texas; one daughter, Jean Nichols of Decatur; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and nephews.
