Eugene Clair [Gene] Persson was famed movie and thearter producer and is best known for a controversial racial drama, "Dutchman." However his aclaimed charming children's musical, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," was his crowning achievement. Mr. Persson produced many other plays off-Broadway in London, and in the United States.

He leaves his wife, Ruth and two sons, Lukas, and Markus, and a daughter, Kaitlin Hopkins, all of New York City.

He was 74.
