H. Olene Mellinger of Springfield died Monday at St. John's Hospice. She was born in Green County, Ky., the daughter of Samuel Upton and Eleanor Finn Lowe. She married Allen B. Mellinger in 1971.
Mrs. Mellinger was a longtime Springfield resident. She was employed as a salesperson for department stores for many years. She was a member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church, The Kingdom Builders Sunday school class and the Eastern Star Chapter 572.
Survivors: husband, Allen B.; a son and a daughter; stepdaughter; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Hallie Keltner of Springfield.
Services: Cherry Hills Baptist Church. Burial: Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
