KERNERSVILLE - J.C. Parsons, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007. Mr. Parsons was born March 1, 1937, in Wilkes County to the late Jiles and Beatrice Parsons. He was retired from Parsons Sawmill. Preceding him in death were a brother, Kenneth Parsons; and sister Willa Jean Powers. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette, of 46 years; daughter Paulette Dodson; son Cliff Parsons and wife Melinda; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sasha, Faith, Katie and Jake Parsons; and a sister, Violet Parks. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville, with Wayne Branch from First Christian Church in Kernersville officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, Sept. 30, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville. Memorials may be made to his wife, Jeanette; the garden fund at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103; or Cancer Services, 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
