ELM SPRINGS -- Loyd E. Taylor, 89, of Elm Springs died June 22, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Wayton to Sherman and Martha Snow Taylor.

He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Springdale United Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, song leader and Sunday school superintendent. He was also a member of the Wayton Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Casey Taylor, in 1996, and an infant son, Eddie Taylor.

Survivors include his children, Loyd Earl Taylor and wife Rosemary of Centerton, Alice Sue Edwards and husband Charlie of Springdale, Mary Kathryn Eason of Waycross, Ga., Ina Verne Sparks of Elm Springs and Rex Allen Taylor and wife Karla of Elm Springs; two brothers, Remmel Taylor of Lowell and Ivory Taylor of Wayton; a sister, Gracie Daniels of Kansas City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Westfield Chapel in Springdale, online at westfieldchapel.com. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Clark Snow will officiate. Burial will be in the Elm Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leamon Earl Taylor, Robert Franklin Edwards, Philip Eugene Sparks, David Allen Edwards, Tony Lynn Culver and Austin Ross Bowen.

An honorary pallbearer will be Tiffany Michelle Harp.
