My grandmother raised five children as an invalid. She could not walk or drive a car, but she and my grandfather, Ira Benton Kile did a spectacular job of providing for their large family. Her cooking and baking was second to none and even though he never drove, he provided a living by painting houses. He had a farm in West Virginia, but came here to Ohio to work because the terrain on his farm was not suitable for farming.
