Dan was born in WV but was raised in Formosa for most of his childhood. He served in the Air Force from 1966-1969. He was in Vietnam in 1969. After graduating from Del. State College he taught Business Ed at Seaford High School for 3 years and Mount Pleasant for 1 year. He then worked for Masten Lumber Company until he was able to buy his own Lumber Company, JEM Lumber. Dan has three daughters; Paula, Melissa and Danielle, and one son Michael.
