Alice C. Koyak, 91, of Loves Park died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, in Maple Crest Care Centre, Belvidere. Born Nov. 5, 1916, in LaSalle-Peru, the daughter of Nicholas and Carmella (Pagoria) Panzica. Married John J. Koyak on Oct. 6, 1942, in Abilene, Texas; he died Aug. 30, 1992. Employed by Loves Park Publishers. Formerly employed by Rockford Dry Goods at Meadow Mart. Past president of Clifford Johnson VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Active at St. Bridget Church Sodality and volunteered for the St. Bridget School P.E. program. Former member of Loves Park Fire Department Fire Flies. Survivors include son, John (Carla) Koyak of Palm Coast, Fla.; daughter, Alyce Koyak of Loves Park; grandchildren, Matthew, Bradley, Lauren and Emma Koyak; great-grandchild, Logan Koyak; brother, Tony Panzica of Hinsdale; brother-in-law, Carl Kirar of Peru; sister-in-law, Ruth Panzica of Belvidere; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Nicholas, John, Sam and Joseph Panzica; and sisters, Jennie Kirar and Mary Buffer. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Life House - The Atrium, Maple Crest and Transitions Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, with Father Brian A. Olsen officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial will be established.
