CHATHAM - Perry Ann Saunders Gibson age 70 of 1968 Callands Road Chatham, VA died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Gretna Health Care Center. She was born on March 4, 1938 in Pittsylvania County, the daughter of the late Perry Garvin Saunders and the late Gladys Nance Saunders.
She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from First Piedmont Corp.
Mrs. Gibson was married to the late Morris Gibson.
She is survived by five sons, Jeffery G. Gibson of Christiansburg, Va., John K. Gibson and his wife Linda of Chatham, M. Bruce Gibson of Chatham, Donald B. Gibson and his wife Jayne of Danville, Va. and Steven T. Gibson and his wife Connie of Gretna, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters, Jill S. Henderson of Birmingham, AL, Bobbie S. Williams of Lynchburg, Peg S. Mayhew of Chatham, and Pat S. Tyree of Danville. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by three sisters, Nikki S. Wilson, Jackie S. Winn and Johnnie S. Reynolds; two brothers, Perry G. Saunders, Jr. and Mike Saunders.
Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Burial Park on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Danny Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Scott Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the residence of her son Bruce Gibson, 108 Hedrick Dr. Chatham. Scott Funeral Home in Chatham is respectfully serving the Gibson family.
