He later served a short time on the Texas frontier. Rose and Jesse had a large cattle ranch near Groveton and had ten children all born in or near Sumpter and Pennington, Texas. They had ten children; Franacis, William, Mary, Nancy, Jesse, Worth, Charles J., J. Powell, Ethel and Blossom.
