Rose Ellen was the daughter of Oswin Teagarden and Mehitable Baker. She married Jesse Turner Evans on 10-22-1865.
Jesse served in the Confederat States Army (1861-65) as a member of Hood's Brigade. He was badly wounded in action in Virginia, captured by the ememy, exchanged, and invalided home. He later served a short time on the Texas frontier. Rose and Jesse had a large cattle ranch near Groveton and had ten children all born in or near Sumpter and Pennington, Texas. They had ten children; Franacis, William, Mary, Nancy, Jesse, Worth, Charles J., J. Powell, Ethel and Blossom.
