Walter H. Strauss
Walter H. Strauss, 90, died at his home at No.1 Tiber Way at 4 p.m. yesterday.
He was born in Marietta Nov. 6, 1873, a son of the late John D. and Carolina Zimmer Strauss. He married Maud M. Barnhart who survives with two sons and one daughter, John D. Strauss of Parkersburg, William E. Strauss of Marietta, and Mrs. Winifred Leibrand of Belpre. One son, Clifford Strauss, and three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Stephens, Mrs. Elizabeth Henthorn, and Mrs Frances Roe are deceased.
There are 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Daniel Strauss and Charles Strauss, and three sisters, Miss Flora Strauss, Miss Marieth Strauss, and Mrs. Freda Brinkman preceded him in death.
Mr. Strauss was a member of St. Paul's Church of Christ. He operated a store on Montgomery St. for several years and was later a salesman for the McCaskey Cash Register Co.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m Saturday at Doudna & McClure Funeral Home with the Rev. M.G. Clausing officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
