Mrs. Evie Lee Stone, 85, died at her home on Saturday. She married Charlie P. Stone on 11 August 1887 and moved to Indian Territory in 1901. They settled on a homestead in the Riverview Community, nine miles southwest of Waurika. Mrs. Stone had been a member of the Church of Christ since the age of 14 years. She was born in Millersburg, Missouri. She moved to Texas with her parents in 1876, settling in Tarrant County. When her husband died, she moved to Waurika. Services were held in the Waurika Church of Christ.
Survived by two sons - C.R. "Buck" Stone, Leslie Stone; three daughters - Viola Stovall, Eula Berry, Myrle Ellsworth; one brother - Miller King; one sister - Ona Stovall; 35 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
