An Octogenarian Dead: Died, Saturday, Sept 4, 1897, at 4:40 a. m., James M. Moore, of Mineral Spring, age 83 years, 11 months, and 16 days. James M. Moore was born in Butler Co., KY, Sept 18, 1813, and lived in Kentucky helping his father on the farm until he was 27 years of age when he was united in marriage to Miss Martha M. Woldridge, Feb 23, 1841, who has since been his faithful companion amid all the vicissitudes of life. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Moore lived in Kentucky until 1847, then moved to Morgan Co., Illinois, where they resided until 1855, when they moved to Johnson Co., MO, living there until 1867. They then moved to Dade Co., MO, where they lived until 1884, and thence to Mineral Springs where he resided until his death. During the war Mr. Moore belonged to the Home Guards. Mr. Moore left a wife, 7 children, 38 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren to morn his loss. The remains were interred in the Mineral Spring Cemetery Saturday after service by Rev C. B. Elliott.
