Mary was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Joseph Sierputowski in 1926 and spent most of her life taking care of the house and raising their daughter. Later in life, as both her daughter & son-in-law worked full time (a rarity in those early years) she devoted her time to helping raise her grandchildren. She was a devout Roman Catholic & a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Baltimore City.
