In 1947 she married Ed Karlow and they had a beautiful daughter Krista Ann Karlow. They settled in Torrance California where Ed pursued a career in politics and was elected to the City Council. They were both very active in the community.
In 1962 her marriage to Ed ended and she met and married Robert "Bob" Silagy a hardworking plasterer in the South Bay area. They lived in Redondo Beach where they had three children, the first two were identical twin girls Robynne and Dana , but sadly Dana lived only a day and they had their youngest child Robert Scott 10 1/2 months later. She and Bob lived in Torrance for many years until they moved their family to Lake Arrowhead where they lived until 1984. Mary Lou lived the remainder of her life in Las Vegas, Nevada with her family nearby for the majority of the time. She saw her children grow up, get married and was blessed with a grandson Justin who brought great joy to her remaining years.
Mary Lou was a beautiful, wise and loving woman who loved her family fiercely and always provided comfort, honesty and guidance to all those who knew her. In February 2007, she died with her husband of 44 years by her side,knowing she had made a difference, raised her children well, gave and received love throughout her life,experienced and survived great loss and times of joy.
She left behind her husband Bob, children Krista, Robynne and Scott brother Bill and sister in law Jeanne,grandson Justin, son in law John, niece Jan and nephew Kevin.
