She was very devoted to her family and her faith and will be greatly missed by many.
She was born June 4, 1928, in Greensburg to parents Clyde and Dola Holtzlider.
Martha graduated from Greensburg High School in 1946 and was married to John R. Green, who survives, for more than 60 years.
After raising her children, she worked at Rush County REMC as secretary to the general manager, retiring with 19 years of service.
She enjoyed traveling with grandchildren, Bible study, and the tree farm she and John established in Rush County. She especially enjoyed history and genealogy research.
Her many activities and memberships included Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Union Veterans, Colonial Ballroom Dancing by Sons of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the XVIII Century, Rush County Historical Society, Civil War Roundtable and the Oasis Legacy Quilt living history presentations.
Martha was preceded in death by siblings Milburn Holtzlider, Reba Holtzlider and Marian Holtzlider Prather; a son, James Richard Green; and a granddaughter, Rebekah Welch.
Survivors include her children, Michael Green and his wife, Jean Anne, Nancy Brand and her husband, Keith, and Rick Green and his wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Chris, Elizabeth, Joe and Joanna Green, Joel and Rachael Welch, and Adam, Aaron and Brenne Green; and siblings, Ellison Holtzlider, Garnet Holtzlider, Fred Holtzlider and Paul Holtzlider.
Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis.
