Rites for Pioneer Sunday Afternoon
Amity, Jan. 30 - George W. Richardson passes away at his home at Amity January 29 at the age of 80. Funeral services will be at the Amity Christian church Sunday at 2 p.m. an interment will be at the Bethel cemetery.
Mr. Richardson was born while crossing the plains, July 13, 1851. In 1870 he was united in marriage to Miss Flora Savage of Yamhill County and to this union eight children were born, all of whom survive. They are Frank and Jesse Richardson of Seattle, Charles Richardson of Riddle, Ore., Mrs. Sadie McKee of Portland, Mrs. Crystal Carter of Stayton, Mrs. Dora Butterick, Mrs. Elva Werner and Lynn Richardson of Amity. The widow, Flora and 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother, a half-brother and two half-sisters also survive.
