Milton R. "Pop" Moats Jr. was called to home after a long battle of heart disease. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Milton was born Feb. 1, 1933, in Downsville, Md. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years. While stationed at Travis Air Force Base, he met Ona Mae (Bottoms) Harrison and they married in August 1954.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Ona Mae Moats of Fairfield; parents,

Milton R. Moats Sr. and Pearl (Higgins) Moats of Williamsport, Md.; his only brother, Paul Moats of Maryland; and sisters, Bobbie Roach, Bettie Shupp and Garnetta Lockard of Maryland.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Milton R. "Richard" Moats III and David "Leroy" and Chris Harrison; daughters and son-in-laws, Sandra and Lanny Capp, Shelba and Lew Lancaster, and Cheryl Levesque; sisters and brother-in-laws, Jeannie and Joey Gehr of Maryland, Gladys and Charles Calandrell of Maryland and Goldie Brown of Maryland; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and, a long list of family and friends.
Aged 74 years.
