OBITUARY
Asa Manly Hughes, son of Constantine and Clarissa Hughes, was born near Postville, Allamakie (sic) county (sic), Ia., April 23, 1870. He departed from this life January 9, 1935, aged 64 years, 8 months and 16 days.
At the age of four years, he came with his parents to Nuckolls county (sic). The remainder of his life was spent in this county.
He was married August 31, 1891, to Mabel E. Price. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are Louis K. of Superior, William S. and Noel G. of Bostwick.
He leaves to mourn his departure his widow, three sons, four grandchildren and two brothers, J. W. Hughes of Guide Rock and G. E. Hughes of Sioux City, Iowa.
Deceased had been for nearly 37 years a member in good standing of the Modern Woodmen of America. It is the belief of his family that in all those years had he ever been in arrears with his monthly assessments
Funeral services were held at the Bostwick M. E. church (sic), Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 p. m., conducted by the pastor, E. C, Moore. Burial was in the Beulah cemetery (sic).

A.M. Hughes passed away Wednesday night. Deceased has run a general store in Bostwick for the past ten years and will be greatly missed by a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church (sic) here Saturday afternoon by Rev. E. Moore of Guide Rock. Interment was made at the Beulah cemetery (sic). -- Bostwick (Special Correspondence.)
