He was born November 21, 1917 in La Paz, B.C., MX and later married Guadalupe Guerrero on May 17, 1942 in Calexico. Thomas was employed with the El Centro School District from 1969 to 1983 as a custodian, first at Wilson Jr. High School then at Kennedy Jr. High School. Prior to being employed with the school district, he worked for Coca-Cola Distributing Company for over 10 years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mass will commence at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro with Father Ruben Valenzuela officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lupita Meza in 1991; grandson, Joseph Jess Hernandez in 2001 and wife, Guadalupe Meza in 2001.
Thomas is survived by his children, Tommy Meza of El Centro, Grace and spouse, Roberto Rubio of El Centro and George Meza of Los Angeles; 4 grandchildren in San Jose and 6 great-grandchildren.
