Karen Jean Rhymes Blass, 53, died June 26, 2008, at her home in Okeechobee. She was born in West Palm Beach and lived in Stuart and Port St. Lucie before moving to Okeechobee.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Noel Blass of Okeechobee; son, Jarrod Butterfield; daughter, Holly Branch; sisters, Shirley Dooley of Arcadia, Linda Kirchman of Stuart, Sandra Pelham of Clewiston, and Susan Lassiter of West Palm Beach; brother, Jerry Rhymes of Okeechobee; mother, Evelyn Rhymes of Pahokee; and one grandson.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. July 2 at Bass Okeechobee Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Pastor David Reeves of Pahokee Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Port Mayaca Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory, 205 N.E. 2nd St., Okeechobee. A guestbook may be signed at www.bassokeechobeefuneralhome.com.
