89er, Neal made the famous "run" and obtained the lot where the Skirving hotel is now located. There he established the city's first grocery store, which conducted an extensive business uner the name of Neal & Williams, until the rapidly growing city forced the store to give way to the hotel.
He is survived by his wife and five childen. Two daughters Mrs Stella L Smith, Mrs Bertha Bowen. Three sons Harley, Fred, Harvey & Harley.
