She was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Danville, the daughter of Roy Claypool and Madeline "Madge" Stump Claypool. She married Brechter J. Henke on June 8,1952, in Rossville, He preceded her in death.
Other survivors include: daughters, Debra L. (Mike) Goodman of Danville and Darla S. (Kevin) Krout of Danville; sons, Dan "Hank" (Cathy) Henke of Ravenna, Texas, and Douglas J. Henke of Rantoul; a sister, Sharon K. (Clarence) Drennan of Rossville; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Duane Henke; a brother, Larry G. Claypool; an infant brother, Charlie Claypool; and an infant sister, Betty Claypool.
Mrs. Henke was a homemaker. She attended the Rossville Church of Christ and its Tuesday Bible study. Viola's hobbies included working crossword puzzles, collecting bells and listening to country music, especially the Statler Brothers. She enjoyed eating out and visiting at Merita's Family Restaurant in Rossville. She also enjoyed visiting with her children, sister, church family and friends.
