UNION Army Enlisted 2 Oct 1862 as a Major, Company S, 6th IOWA CAVALRY, mustered out 17 Oct 1865, Sioux City, Iowa.
Applied for Invalid pension 10 Jan 1891. His wife Louisa applied for a widow's pension.

Son of Ransom and Laura (Williams) House. Married to Louisa M. "Amelia" Sprang on 15 April 1858 in Colesburg, Delaware Co., Iowa.

Albert served the US Army during the Civil War and during the plains wars (about 4 years). He was at the battle of White Stone Hill in North Dakota. The state of North Dakota has errected a monument where the battle of White Stone Hill took place.

Children were Ralph Emerson House, Charles F. House, Herbert L. House, Arthur Albert House. Albert and Louisa adopted Adella Delaide M. Clark (daughter of Albert's sister - Mary Jane [House] Clark when both Mary Jane & her husband, Harvey Roy Clark died young).

Albert was a laywer in Delhi from 1870 to 1880. He served as Postmaster there between 1886 to 1893 and was on the school board for over 40 years. By 1900 he was a lumber salesman in Delhi.
