Lois Bennett Griffin Carson, 77, beloved Mommie, Granny, sister, aunt, and friend to many passed away June 20, 2008. She was born December 14, 1930, at home on Moonshine Hill in Humble, Texas to Ottie Belle Howe and James William Cokley Griffin. Lois was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Humble and retiree of H. L. & P.
She is survived by daughters Susan Elizabeth Stoker and husband James; Bobbie Lois Wilson and husband Charles; son James William Carson and wife Lauralee; grandchildren, Robert Estel, James Russell and Jaime Susan Stoker; Charles Christopher Wilson, Lisa Michelle Wilson Burton; Nathan Eric Mock, and Martin Joseph Reiss; Scott Michael and Jamie Elizabeth Carson; great grandchildren, Summer and Tristan Stoker; Madison Stoker; Robert and Justin Simon; Cameron and Cody Carson; and Michala Hanks; sisters Carmen Geraldene Terrell and husband Durwood; Laura Alice Willis and husband Robert; and Roberta Ann Francis; special niece Betty Mittag Clarke and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Ann Mock Neiman; infant sister Helen, sister Elizabeth LaVernne Kirkland; brothers, David, William Quircus, James Mason, Alan Lau "Oop", and Edwin Lynwood.
Pallbearers: grandsons, Charles Wilson, Robert Stoker, Russ Stoker, Eric Mock; nephews, Stephen Francis, David Francis, Robert Francis; Honorary pallbearer Marvin Henderson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Rosewood Funeral Home, with a funeral service to be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008, in the Chapel with Rev. Larry Dangerfield officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
