Alfred Lane Garrison is the son of James Samuel Garrison and his wife Annie Claire (Swearingen) Garrison. He is a descendant of RWS James Garrison and his wife Hester/Easter Ann Roberts. He is also a descendant of the early Texas Ranger, Alfred Lane and his wife, Elizabeth (Goodnight) Lane, who is the sister of another famous Texas Ranger, Charles Goodnight.
"Jake" married Mary Margaret Tarrant. They had one daughter, Bobbie K (Garrison) Zugar. They are all buried together at Eastland City Cemetery.
"Jake" and Mary died as a result of a car accident.
