LILA SPARKS RUSHING DAVIE, died peacefully at home on June 30, 2008 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alton Rushing and Harold Davie; her son, Mitchell Rushing and her two sisters, Jimmie Gibson Noel and Virgie Floyd. She is survived by three of her four children, Irene Parker of Atoka, TN, Celia Pollard of Hudsonville, MS, Joe Rushing of Arlington, TN; eight of her nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of more distant relatives and countless friends. Mrs. Davie has been a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for the past thirty years, prior to which she was an active member of Ellendale Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and worked with the church's youth groups. "Grandma Lila" will long be remembered for her love of God and family and for her devotion to serving others. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 and service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2nd at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with burial following in Memory Hill Gardens.
