1995 his death was recounted by his younger brother George McCoskey Kester- "Dolath was riding on the wagon with dad, he was getting tired of sitting there and asked if he could jump off and run along the side the wagon. Dad told him to go to the back of the wagon and jump off. Evidently Dolath did not go to the back of the wagon, he jumped off the side and lost his balance falling backward and underneath it. He suffered head injuries and lived for several days."
