Ollie A. Gassaway was born on Oct 1, 1881 in Bolling Green Kentucky. His parents were Gustolive and Betty Gassaway.

He married Cora Lee Blankhead and they lived in Gatesville for a while before moving to Carroll's Hill near Gholson. Seven children were born to them Florence (Mrs. Wm P Edwards); Adolphus A (married Florence Cammack) born Nov 5, 1905 and died April 10, 1971; Lillie; Ollie Lee; Mae (Mrs. A. B. Mosley); Ray; and Louise LaVerne (Mrs. Medford Corley).

Cora Lee died and is buried in the Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff.
