HOUSTON - Donald Gene Gann, 67, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at his residence in Houston. He was born in Houston on March 13, 1938, to the late Richard Metts Gann and Annie Jewel Smith Gann. He was a retired grocery store owner and furniture manufacturer. He was the widower of Peggy Freeman Gann who died May 2, 2001.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Houston Funeral Home with the Rev. Evo Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Chickasaw Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Houston.

Survivors include his daughters, Janet Pettit and husband, James, of Houston, Patricia Mortimer and husband, William, of Winona; his grandchildren, Shane Allen Pettit and wife, Amber, and Jay Tyler Pettit; his great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Hope Pettit.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Stacey Spratlin, John Smith, Neil Allen, Billy Mortimer and William Walker.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
