Mr. Neel was born March 2, 1917 in Chalk Bluff. He married Martha Dabney on Sep 27, 1937 in Hillsboro.
He was a retired assistant fire chief for the Waco Fire Department, where he worked from 1941 to 1982. He is the former owner of W A Neel and Associates and Al's Oak Street Cleaners, both in West.
Mr. Neel was a former member of the Kiwanis Club in West, the West Library Association and the West Booster Club. He served on the West Community Hospital Board of Directors and was a member of the national guard. He was a member of the West Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; one son, four daughters, one brother, three sisters and numerous grandchildren.
