Adolfo Leopoldo Rosquellas was born to a wealthy family. He was an amateur musician, in the 1920´s his family came into a bankrupcy and Adolfo had to use his music skills for earning money. In 1927 he moved to USA and made his debut leading an orchestra in the famed "Embassy Club" at New York. He spent the rest of his life in USA, gaining notoriety with his "Don Pancho Orchestra." In 1942 he joined the Army.
When he was an amateur, back in Buenos Aires, he composed his first tango "Pura Clase", which is still performed, 90 years later. Another compositions are: "Cap Polonio," "Marquesita", "La Rica", "Che, que chica", "Acordáte", "Una pena", among others.
In 1934 he met the great Carlos Gardel at New York. The legendary tango singer wanted to hire Rosquellas for a tour, but he declined. This probably saved his life.
