The 13th Kentucky was a regiment in the 23rd Army Corps at the time. "June, 1863. 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, 23rd Army Corps, Army of the Ohio, to August, 1863. 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, 23rd Army Corps, to April, 1864. 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, 23rd Army Corps, to June, 1864."

According to CWSS Prisoner of War Records at Andersonville, Marcus L. and Samuel H. Sublett, both of the 13th Kentucky, were held at Andersonville. Marcus died of Typhus fever; Samuel survived.
