Oscar Lackey, 67, City nightwatchman, died Saturday from pneumonia and complications. He had been ill but a short time prior to his death. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the West Prong Cemetery in Medina. R. D. Simmons, minister of the Church of Christ, was in charge of the services and the interment was directed by Smith's.

Mr. Lackey was a native of Johnson City, but had lived in the Medina and Bandera communities most of his life. He and his family had resided in Kerrville at 1300 Water Street for the past ten years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Lackey of this city, and fourteen children: G. W. Lackey, Aaron W. Lackey, Joe Lackey, Hal Lackey and Franklin D. Lackey of this city; Mrs. B. S. Mayfield, Medina; Mrs. Marjorie Johansen, Port Isabel; Mrs. C. W. Peavler, San Antonio; Mrs. C. L. Dodson, Shreveport, La., Mrs. Leo J. Smith, Detroit, Mich.; John 0. Lackey, and Miss Gertrude Lackey of Los Angles, Cal.; Robert Lackey of Truman, Cal., and Glenn Lackey of Vallejo, Cal. There are also 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Joe Porter, Tampa; and four brothers: Israel Lackey, Abilene; Lige Lackey, Llano; Ira Lackey, San Antonio, and Chris Lackey of Corpus Christi, also survive.
