This is my Uncle Jim, my father's brother. He was born in Sugar Notch, PA and then was a resident of Levittown, PA for the last 40 years. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Elementary School in Sugar Notch and St. Leo High School in Ashley, PA. He was a graduate of the College of Our Lady in Wisconsin and pursued his philosophy and theological studies with the Discalced Carmelite Friers. He attended the Salesian Institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the King College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He studied the Latin and Greek Classics in Boston, Mass. and Wisconsin. He had an AAB in Liberal Arts, a degree in Clinical and Pastoral Psychology, and received a LLB degree from the Chicago Law School in 1955, and a Teaching Certificate from Temple University.

He served with the Falls Twp. Police for 32 years until his retirement as Deputy Chief 1987.

He was made made a Knight of the Blessed Sacrament by Pope Pius XII in 1945 and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, ST.Joseph the Worker Council #4214 of which he was Past Grand Knight, and an Honorary Life Member, He was also a fourth degree member of St. John Neuman Assembly.

Uncle Jim enjoyed reading the the early Church Fathers in the original Greek and Latin. He recited the Divine office Daily, In addition to the Greek and Latin he was conversant in French, German, Czech, Hungarian, Irish and Serbo-Croatian.

He was a member of the Irish Historical Society in Ireland and succeeded in tracing our family tree and surname McManamon back to 1300 AD He was also an Amateur Radio operator.

He was the son of of the late Neil and Helen (Gallagher) McManamon. The Beloved husband of 40 years to Hannah (Hussy) McManamon, Loving father of Kevin, and Grandfather of Kelly, Kyle and Kourtney McManamon.

He was preceded in death by by his brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Neil, Donald and sister Dorothea. He was survived by his brother Thomas and sister Mary.

For all his education Uncle Jim was a real down to earth type of guy and never turned any of his nieces or nephews way if they needed to talk.
