Dorothea McManamon McKeown was the youngest child born to Neil McManamon and Helen Gallagher McManamon. She was born in Sugar Notch, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania. She had 6 brothers and one sister: Joseph (killed in W W II), Neil, Thomas, James, Donald, Raymond and Mary; several children (all girls) and several grandchildren. She was married to Sylvester McKeown, they then moved to Levittown, PA, where all of her brothers & sister with the exception Neil, and her parent lived.

She worked at Pomeroys in the Levittown center, and at Christmas time she was the Santa walking thru the center.

She had one god-child, Rosita, and I always said I was the way I was cuz she dropped me on my head when I was a baby.

She suffered from diabetes and had to have by lateral BKA's.

She moved back up to the Wilkes Barre area and lived with her daughters. Eventually she passed from complications of the diabetes.

She was special to me and I miss her.
