HOWARD RAY HERODE

Howard Ray Herode, 72, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, March 9,
2002, in a local hospital.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at
Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, March 13, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the Rev.
Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial
Gardens.

Howard was born April 6, 1929, in Rochester, Ky., to Henry and Clara
McCoy Herode. He married his loving wife of 39 years, Ida Simmons, on
April 23, 1963, in Odessa, Texas.

Howard worked in the oil field trucking industry for many years. He
worked for Lane Brothers Trucking, J.E. Cox and Son Trucking and E.L.
Farmers Trucking where he met many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Herode of San Angelo; three sons,
Darrel Herode and wife, Carla, of Snyder, Paul Herode and wife, Kim,
of West Chester, Ohio, and Chris Stewart and wife, Pam, of San Angelo;
daughter, Joyce Webb and husband, Sherman, of West Chester; two
sisters, Mary Ruth Bryant of Central City, Ky., and Betty Cain of
Belton, Ky.; eight brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; twenty
grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and
nephews; and friends in Kentucky and Texas.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks for all the thoughts
and prayers received during Howards illness. A special thanks goes to
the staff of Shannon Hospital and the Heritage House for all their
tender loving care.

Pallbearers include grandsons; Stephen Webb, Dan Flynn, Roger Hiers;
and nephews, Andy Simmons, Michael McKinney and Dennis Simmons.
