Fannie L. Skaggs, 105, of Humboldt, Kansas, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Arrowood Lane Residential Care Facility in Humboldt, Kansas.

Fannie was born in Elk City, Kansas on Oct. 8, 1907, the daughter of Thomas C. and Sarah C. (Jeter) Owen.

She graduated from Elk City High School in 1927 and attended summer classes at Pittsburg State College and taught for a short time.

She was united in marriage to John Piesker on May 12, 1929 in Elk City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1961.

She later married James Skaggs on August 19, 1966 in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1972.

Fannie was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Humboldt Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the County Extension.

She is survived by a daughter, Bethel Ludlum and husband, Max, of Elsmore, KS; a son, Rex Piesker and wife, Jeanette, of Greenville, WI; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands John Piesker and James Skaggs; a grandson, Danny Ludlum; four brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Neosho County, KS.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Humboldt Methodist Church or the Arrowood Lane Residential Care Facility and may be left with the funeral home.
