Married 1st Mary Turner and 2nd Mary Nesbit on Nov. 16, 1771 at Tulare County, California.
Owned the "Necktie" Ranch at Walnut Grove, Arizona, which was originally homesteaded by Paulino Weaver.

PIERCE--At Walnut Grove, Arizona, Thursday, September 6, 1888, at 5 minutes to 1 o'clock, Wm Pierce, aged 79 years.
"Uncle Billy" Pierce, as he was familiarly known in this section, was born near Nashville, Tenn., where he grew up, married, and where most of his children resident here were born. From Nashville he emigrated to Missouri, where he lived some years, coming to California in '52, and from there to Arizona in '78, settling near Walnut Grove, where he procured and improved a ranch. He leaves five children, by his first wife, all grown, among them Mrs. T. L. Bacon, of this place, and a wife to mourn his loss.
His remains were laid to rest on Friday last at 4:30 p.m. In his death the community loses an honorable and exemplary citizen, and his family a provident and kind husband and father. The sympathy of all who know them are extended to the bereaved ones.
