Richard Patrick Morris was killed in a helicopter crash near Brent, Al in a Bell 206-1973.He was there to spray a field for a land owner, the land owner Steven Barry Jones 37 was killed also. Patrick was 33 years old and the father of two boys James Patrick Morris(4 years ) and John Markert Morris(1 Year). The crash site was 5 miles from the Tuscaloosa -Bibb county line not far from U.S. 82 and Bibb Co. 26. Pat was a great father,and a joy to his parents and grandparents all his life. His father Richard Paul Morris was so proud of him and his abilities as a pilot. He had served in the Army 13 years. He was a First Lieutenant in the Louisiana National Guard. He owned and flew a Beech craft v-35 Bonanza plane. Pat grew up a Catholic, but had converted to Methodist when he married Amy Markert who is a Dermatologist. He also leaves his mother Nancy Hackelman Cook, two brothers James and Christopher Morris and a sister Mary Elizabeth Morris. Extended family are his grandmother Tona Hackleman Levy, Aunt Bonnie Morris Conrad and many cousins. His grandparents Elmer Lee & Leta Rachel Paul Morris died in 1995 and 1998. He flew his helecopter to their funerals. Pat had many friends and was a happy generous person who really tried to be a friend to all.He is greatly missed by all who knew him. He rests in the arms of his heavenly father who loved him best of all.
