Tonice Alvin Waddell, 81, of Rogersville died on October 9, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Grove Church of Christ with Rev. Trevor Parker officiating. Burial will be in Higgins Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Spry Funeral Home. He was born on November 2, 1919 near Rogersville and was retired from Lauderdale County Road Department. He was a World War II Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ocie Inez (Romine) Waddell; his son, Clymoth Waddell of Florence; his daughters, Carolyn Rogers of Florence, Joyce McLemore of Rogersville, and Linda Faye Slaton of Athens; his brothers, Clifton Waddell of Decatur, D. C. Waddell of Rogersville, and Talmage Waddell of Athens; his sisters, Hazel Christeen George, Inita Vaughn Hamby, and Opal Frances Johnson, all of Athens, and Nancy Milonea Mitchell of Toney; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
