Ellen Sarah EATON (b: 11 May 1835 in Vermont).

Blanche Alma Farnsworth was born in Philo, Illinois, on August 6, 1867 and died at her home in Portis, Kansas, on April 26, 1934, at the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 20 days. Her death occurred on her 47th wedding anniversary.

When 2 years of age, she moved with her parents to Augusta, Kansas, where she lived for 5 years. The parents again hearing the call of the west, moved with the children to Lincoln County, Kansas, where the deceased spent the rest of her life.

In 1887, she was united in marriage to William Hudson Creamer. Seven children came to bless this union, six of whom survive. They are Mrs. Pearl Sibley of Cawker City; Mrs. Jessie Killinger of Portis; Mrs. Hazel Presell of Eldorado; Mr. Cecil Creamer of Downs; Mrs. Gladys Hayes of Portis; and Mr. Lawrence Creamer of Portis. Forest Herman preceded his mother in death in March 1921. The husband and father died June 12, 1926.

She lived an intensely active life until her brief illness which resulted in hear death. She bore with patience her afflictions, which were very severe. During her illness, she was ministered to by her children who did all they could to alleviate her suffering.

She was a member of the Portis M.E. Church, having joined in 1893. This was only a few years after the church was organized in Portis.

She leaves to mourn her death besides her children, 2 sisters, Mrs. Manners of Lucas, Kansas, and Mrs. Maude Butler of Alberta, Canada; also 2 brothers, Mr. Walter Farnsworth of Portis, Kansas, and Mr. Arthur Farnsworth of Lucas, Kansas; also 23 grandchildren. Carl Creamer, one of her grandchildren, has been with her for 11 years. Besides these she leaves many friends who will sadly miss her.

The funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Portis Methodist Church. The sermon was by the Reverand L. F. Arend of the Wesleyan University Church of Salina and he was assisted by the church pastor, Reverand D. N. McAllister. The song service was the Portis Men's Quartet. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, southwest of Portis.
