MARY ELIZABETH REED
A 93-year-old Dallas Resident who formerly lived in Whitesboro was buried Monday afternoon in the Collinsville cemetery. She was Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Reed who died Saturday at 7 p.m. in Dallas after a two-year illness.
Services were held in Richards Chapel. Services were conducted by Rev. Jim Benton, Dallas Baptist pastor, and Rev. Harold Watson, pastor of the First Baptist church of Whitesboro.
Pallbearers were Jim West, Joe West, Bill West, Ellis West, Charley West and Pat Roberts.
Mrs. Reed was born June 21, 1875, in Alabama the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James O. Carter. She married W.B. Reed on August 18, 1895. Mr. Reed died in 1953.
A member of the First Baptist church of Whitesboro, Mrs. Reed is survived by three sons, Virgil Reed of Lewisville, Maurice Reed of Childress and Olin Reed of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Willie Burgin of Whitesboro and Mrs. Georgia Coleman of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
