Lou Alice was only 15 years old when she married on April 15, 1891 to 28-year old John Winford Bundy of Johnston Co. The couple removed to Raleigh where John was a laborer, and later a house painter. They were parents to 5 known surviving children:

* Sarah Mildred Bundy (1896-1968)
* James Winford Bundy (1898-1935)
* William Vance Bundy (1901-1918)
* Alice Virginia Bundy (1908-1990)
Lou Alice was widowed young when her husband of 22 years died in 1913 at age 50. She remained in Raleigh raising the children and sometime after 1921 she married again to the widower, Major Lawrence Jones (1871-1939) of Jacksonville, Onslow County, NC, who who was widowed again when Lou Alice died in 1927.
Her second husband, Major Lawrence Jones, returned to Onslow County where he died in the Onslow County Home in 1939 at age 68. He is believed to be buried with his (1st) wife Elda "Callie" Foster (1876-1921) in Wilmington, NC.
As for her children, Zylphia married Jesse Earle Howell and was mother to at least 5 known children. Sarah "Mildred" married Frederick Clinton Jones of Raleigh; Alice Virginia Bundy married Howard C. (or Edward T.) Mosher and removed to Virginia; James Winford removed to Florida and married Mary "Mamie" McKinney, the widow of Charlie Lanier Wadsworth, then returned to Raleigh and died suddenly in 1935 at age 37. Son, William Vance Bundy, died suddenly at age 17 from a burst appendix.
