LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Thu., Jan. 3, 1985:

“Larry Lee Griffin of Blossom died at Westgate Hospital in Denton Thursday, Dec. 27. Services were held at Bright Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Putnam officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Griffin was born July 27, 1937 in Sumner, a son of Guy Houston Griffin and Lora Howie Griffin. He married Jodie Ann McNeal on Sept. 1, 1960 in Paris. He had been employed by Frito-Lay Co. for 15 years and was a member of the Blossom United Methodist Church where he received the John Wesley special Service Award in 1980. He was a lay leader in the church and a member of the Blossom Lions Club. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and was a platoon sergeant in the 952D Engineering Co. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Rev. Larry Don Griffin of Krum and Jeffrey Lee Griffin of Blossom; one daughter, Shanna Wanell Griffin of Blossom; one brother, Jerrel Griffin of Paris; one sister, Mrs. Christine Gardner of Millerstown, PA.; his mother, Mrs. Lora Griffin of Paris; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Ryan, Jeremy Drew and Justin Clint Griffin, all of Krum. He was preceded in death by his father in 1978
