DOVER -- Samuel W. Simpson of Dover died of a heart attack Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, in his home. He was 49.

Mr. Simpson was a lifelong resident of Kent County and a graduate of Caesar Rodney schools and Wesley College. Mr. Simpson was owner of Simpson Construction Co. in Camden, a business SL: OBIT. He was a member of the Faith Community Church, and he served on the Camden Planning Commission. Mr. Simpson enjoyed restoring old trucks.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walton H. Simpson, in 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Maddox Simpson of Dover; two sons, Walton Simpson and Joseph Simpson, both at home; a daughter, Samantha Simpson, also at home; his mother, Anna Lee Simpson of Camden; and a sister and her husband, Ann and Don Spence of Camden.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Faith Community Church, 2240 S. Du Pont Highway, Camden, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
