Mr. Reed was a native of Clinton, Ia., but came to Colorado when he was 17.
Mr. Reed moved to Greeley in 1907 and operated a job printing plant here.
He later published the Jackson County Star at Walden.
In 1915 Mr. Reed moved to Pierce and published the Pierce Leader there several years. He later published the Kersey News.
At Fort Collins, Mr. Reed operated the Beatrice Creamery agency and Central News stand.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel F. Reed; three sons, and four daughters.
Funeral services are being held Friday at Ft. Collins.
