She was born July 6, 1911, in West Mansfield. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and also attended Rolling Plains United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Bliss Business College and was formerly employed as the church secretary at First United Methodist Church for several years. She was active in the Couples Sunday School Class and served as an officer in the local and state Parent Teacher Association.
She is survived by one son, Gerald E. Bushong of Zanesville; two daughters, Deborah (Larry) Lapp and Susan (Larry) Stall, both of Zanesville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Bushong; her parents, Benjamin Harrison Powers and Minnie Ilah Clapsaddle Powers Watts; three brothers, Max, Charles and Bill Powers; one daughter, Margaret Ann; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Drive in White Cottage, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ruby Hill and the Rev. Brian Law officiating. Burial will be at North Greenfield Cemetery in West Mansfield.
